Although stoning for zina is not mentioned in the Quran, all schools of traditional jurisprudence agreed on the basis of hadith that it is to be punished by stoning if the offender is muhsan adult, free, Muslim, and having been married , with some extending this punishment to certain other cases and milder punishment prescribed in other scenarios. Aside from “a few rare and isolated” instances from the pre-modern era and several recent cases, there is no historical record of stoning for zina being legally carried out.
In the Hadiths , the definitions of zina have been described as all the forms of sexual intercourse , penetrative or non-penetrative, outside the institution marriage or the institution of slavery. The zina of the eyes is looking, the zina of the tongue is speaking, one may wish and desire, and the private parts confirm that or deny it. Most of the rules related to fornication, adultery and false accusations from a husband to his wife or from members of the community to chaste women, can be found in Surat an-Nur the Light.
Except those who repent after this and act aright, for surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. The public lashing and public lethal stoning punishment for fornication and adultery are also prescribed in Hadiths , the books most trusted in Islam after Quran, particularly in Kitab Al-Hudud.
How did the term get so much traction? Social media had a lot to do with it, but so did social science. But what does it mean to be guilty of toxic masculinity? Hard to say. For how much the term is bandied around, it remains poorly defined. The toxic bit is simple enough, but masculinity has always been difficult to pin down.

Brian Kemp, for the third time, will renew a public health state of emergency. The governor revealed the renewal during a news conference on Thursday. It allows for enhanced partnerships between the private and public sectors for healthcare infrastructure, procurement of supplies, and coordination across all levels of government,” Kemp said. But Kemp also moved forward in his continued push to open up the state’s economy.
A new order signed by Kemp will allow for gatherings to be increased from 10 people to 25 starting on June 1. Kemp said “favorable data” allowed him to make the move, but social distancing of 6 feet must still be done. As part of that new order, Kemp said it will allow for overnight summer camps in the state to open on May 31, bars and nightclubs can restart operations on June 1, and even professional and amateur sports can begin again on June 1 — provided certain specifications can be met.
Amusement parks, carnivals, circuses, and water parks can also re-open on June An executive order remains in place until June 12 asking the elderly and medically fragile to shelter-in-place.

Of COVID patients who have required hospitalization, 45 percent will need ongoing medical care, 4 percent will require inpatient rehabilitation, and 1 percent will permanently require acute care, according to the UK National Health Service. Experts suspect that pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease that occurs when lung tissue becomes damaged and scarred, may occur in patients suffering from severe COVID infections as a result of acute respiratory distress syndrome ARDS.
Currently, there isn’t enough evidence to conclusively make the connection. However, the condition is characterized by “declining lung function, increasing extent of fibrosis on CT, worsening symptoms and quality of life, and early mortality,” according to a paper published in The Lancet , and “arises, with varying degrees of frequency, in the context of a number of conditions including IPF, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, autoimmune disease, and drug-induced interstitial lung disease.
Due to the tendency of COVID to cause blood clotting, some people—even young and middle-aged adults—are experiencing strokes. While it isn’t clear what long-term damage these virus-related strokes will cause, experts suspect long-term minor brain damage is possible. Health experts believe it may have to do reduced oxygen as well as inflammation of the heart muscle.
Those who had existing cardiovascular problems experienced more damage, which increased their risk for heart attack and stroke. Small blood clots in the brain as a result of the virus can go undetected, and can be responsible for a type of dementia known as vascular dementia, which occurs over time. Another potential long-term health issue that can be caused by COVID induced blood clots is pulmonary embolism.

The Joplin Board of Education on Tuesday will discuss what parameters could be considered to return Joplin High School to a traditional, five-day-a-week schedule. The high school start classes Monday on a split schedule, wherein only half of the student body attends on any given day, while the remaining half rely on remote learning. Principal Steve Gilbreth has said the schedule is necessary to ensure that social distancing can take place in a school with more than 2, students enrolled.
The split schedule was the subject of much debate among school board members last month. The four board members who approved the schedule said they wanted to err on the side of safety for students, while the three who opposed it said they believed the students should attend in-person classes daily. All remaining schools started the fall term today on a five-day-a-week schedule, with protocols such as frequent cleaning, mask-wearing and social distancing in place to help limit the spread of COVID The board and administration last month said they couldn’t say what factors would be considered to return to a full schedule at the high school, although Superintendent Melinda Moss told board members that her staff would evaluate the situation “constantly” with them.
In other business, the board also will review an updated design for the addition to be built at Kelsey Norman Elementary School. The architecture firm is involved in designing both the Kelsey Norman addition and the new elementary school that will be built at Dover Hill to replace Columbia and West Central schools. Administrators have said the addition is necessary to relieve overcrowding at the school and to eliminate the modular units still in use there.
Initial designs showed the addition as an 8,square-foot space that would hold classrooms and the special education program, to be constructed on the north side of the school near the main entrance and the community safe room. The Joplin Board of Education will meet at 7 p.
